France

We all know France is the home of Paris. With all the sights to see, food to eat, and culture to experience, many don’t make too much time exploring the rest of France. This June marks the 75th anniversary of the D-Day landings and the Battle of Normandy. Normandy, France will be hosting events that commemorate such a historic event. It might be worth missing out on the City of Lights this year and exploring this amazing part of France.

 

Portugal

If you are creating your bucket list for this year, add in Europe’s best-kept secret. Portugal has many palaces, historic towns, and vineyards. Traveling throughout this country you can find it is filled with many color historic buildings and also travel through the wine region around Porto. Algarve, Portugal is known to have some of the best beaches in the regions. If you are a history buff and visiting Normandy wasn’t enough, add Berlin, Germany to your list of travel plans. Not only is Berlin an affordable metropolitan area, but it also contains famous art, food and drink, and many nightlife offerings. The 30th anniversary of the Berlin Wall falling will be happening in November. Explore the museums, monuments, and performances surrounding the original wall. Though Germany is having events throughout the year, November will be the most significant time to visit the place which was divided for 28 years.

 

South America

Chile and Argentina are going to be popular tourist attractions this year. A solar eclipse is said to occur during the month of July. Not only do you get to explore a new region and culture but you also get to see a great cosmic event that is an experience in itself. The path of totality is marked to be just south of Buenos Aires, Argentina. Along with Buenos Aires, the Elqui Valley, Chile, and Mendoza, Argentina are recommended to be the best spots to view the solar eclipse.
